The Unusual & The Extra-Ordinary
ACTION IS BETTER THEN REACTION
Integrated event, entertainment and tourism risk and resilience management
Events and productions depend on many systems working together. We help clients consider safety, meduca responsel , crowds, security, production, suppliers and people as connected parts of one project. We identify where responsibilities overlap, where information may be missing and where a problem in one area could affect another. We then help teams develop practical plans, put them into operation and adjust them as the project changes Our work supports better planning before an event, sound decisions during delivery and a coordinated response when conditions change.
HOW WE CAN HELP YOU
ResponSE is Better then ReaCTion
Safety
We assist clients to develop event risk assessments, safety management plans, policies and procedures suited to their production or venue. We work with organisers, production teams and contractors to identify hazards, agree on controls and make responsibilities clear. Our support continues beyond writing documents: we help teams communicate and implement the plans through inductions, briefings, inspections and on-site advice. We can also provide experienced safety staff on the ground to support crews, monitor conditions and help resolve issues as they arise. As designs, schedules and site conditions change, we review and update the arrangements with the team.
OPERATIONAL Resilience
We help clients identify the activities, people, equipment and suppliers that are essential to delivery. We then consider what might interrupt them, from power or communications failure to severe weather, transport disruption or the loss of a key supplier. We assist with backup arrangements, escalation processes and clear decision-making responsibilities. Plans can be tested through discussions or exercises before they are needed in a real disruption.
Sustainability
We help clients understand how their event or production uses materials, energy and other resources, and where practical improvements can be made. Using circular economy principles, we look for ways to reduce waste and keep materials and equipment in use for longer through better design, repair, reuse and return systems. We review purchasing, transport, packaging and supplier practices, then work with production teams to build sustainable choices into everyday decisions. We also help clients record outcomes, learn what worked and improve the next project.
People
We help clients plan the staffing, supervision and welfare needed to deliver a project safely and reliably. This includes reviewing working hours, rest, competence, language needs, communication and the demands placed on key roles. We also support wellbeing and mental health by helping teams identify and manage psychosocial risks, such as excessive workloads, unclear responsibilities, conflict and inadequate support. We can assist with inductions, team briefings and ways for people to raise concerns or report issues. Our aim is to give staff, performers and contractors the information and support they need throughout the project..
production & OPERATIONS
We help clients turn an event concept into a workable production plan. This can include reviewing schedules, coordinating suppliers and contractors, identifying site requirements and clarifying who is responsible for each part of delivery. We assist with the practical interfaces between creative, technical, venue and operational teams. During delivery, we can help resolve emerging issues and keep changes coordinated across the production.
Diversity (D&I)
We help clients review how people access and experience an event, workplace or venue. This includes audience information, physical access, communication, facilities and the way teams respond to different needs. Drawing on years of work with international touring shows, we also help visiting teams understand the culture, working practices and expectations of the country they are working in. Through briefings, training and practical support, we help organisers and crews identify barriers, make appropriate adjustments and work respectfully with local teams..
Supply chain & LOGIstics
We help clients understand which suppliers are critical to their project and what each must deliver. This includes reviewing supplier capability, lead times, specifications, freight, storage, transport and installation requirements. We help coordinate the flow of equipment, materials and information between suppliers, logistics providers, venues and production teams, with checks at key stages of delivery. When a shipment, dependency or schedule changes, we help teams assess the impact and develop a workable response.
Public safety
We help clients develop crowd management, medical response and emergency arrangements for audiences and visitors. Our work can include reviewing capacities, crowd flow, entry and exit, barriers, accessible routes and the location of medical resources. We help organisers coordinate the roles of venue teams, crowd managers, security, medical providers and emergency services. We also support briefings and on-site reviews to check that the arrangements can be carried out in practice.
Accessibility
We help clients identify and remove barriers that may prevent people from attending, working at or participating in an event. We review the full experience, including booking information, arrival, routes through the venue, viewing areas, facilities, communication and departure. We can assist with accessible layouts, staff briefings, reasonable adjustments and emergency arrangements for people with different access needs. Where possible, we encourage clients to involve people with lived experience in reviewing plans and testing arrangements before the event opens..
Manufacturing & Sourcing
We help clients define what a product or piece of equipment needs to do before approaching manufacturers. Our dedicated team in Guangzhou supports China-based sourcing, supplier communication, sample reviews, factory visits and production follow-up. We provide quality assurance checks against agreed specifications, identify issues early and help coordinate corrections before delivery. We also consider suitability for use, safe installation and the information end users need, while keeping designers, manufacturers and clients informed as requirements change.
Venue management
We support venues in reviewing how they plan, host and manage different types of events. This can include operating procedures, contractor requirements, inspections, emergency arrangements and the handover between venue staff and visiting productions. We help identify gaps where responsibilities or information could be unclear. We can also assist with staff briefings and practical improvements to day-to-day event operations.
Training, consulting and collaboration
We design workshops and exercises around the actual decisions people make in their roles. Sessions can cover risk assessment, event safety, emergency response, crowd management, sustainability or other project needs. Our consulting support helps clients review existing arrangements, solve specific problems and put agreed improvements into practice. We also facilitate discussions between departments, contractors and partners whose work needs to fit together.
